L. Polk & Co., Directory pub. Detroit, MI., 1884 ALBA. A village with a population of 200, located near Jordan creek, in Chestonia township, Antrim county, 12 miles from Bellaire, the county seat. It is also a station on the G.R. & I.R.R., 69 miles from Mackinaw City, 157 from Grand Rapids, and 280 northwest of De- troit. The village is surrounded by an excellent agricultural section of the country, which also abounds in timber. The price of farming lands varies from $5 to $40 per acre, according to improvements.
