              ALCONA.
              
              Poorhouse is three miles from Harrisville - It is a good
           sized frame farm house, well constructed and has been re-
           modled for such use; separation of the sexes is fairly well
           provided for in the house, but not in the yard; a good hospi-
           tal has been secured by finishing off a room at the extreme
           rear of the building. The old house, situated eight miles
           from the county seat, was burned down since last report. The
           farm was sold and the present property purchased.
