Flames Threaten to Destroy Town Harrisville, Mich., March 22. - Harrisville is threatened with total destruction by fire tonight. Already the flames have swept the larger part of the business section. The fire started in Shields's general store on Lake street. In a short time the building was a mass of ruins. The office of the Alcona County Review, adjoin- ing on the south, was next to go. Flames leaped to the building of the Alcona County bank, a private institution next to the Review office, wiping out the steel-sheeted structure. S. B. Kahn's general store, one of the largest on the lake shore, standing at the corner of Lake and Main streets, was destroyed. Rest of Town Threatened. The new Hotel McDonald, just completed, across the street from the bank, the postoffice, Masonic temple, LaBoueff's livery stable and several residences, are threatened and may be destroyed. Alpena was asked for aid, and sent an engine and hose cart, together with firemen on a special at 9 o'clock. Unless help is soon received the entire town will be wiped out. Communication may be cut off at any moment, as the flames are spreading toward the telegraph office. The telephone lines are already gone. The damage will reach into thousands of dollars. ==========================================================================
