R. Page & Co., - 1883 [273] P. McGRATH, undertaker, and dealer in groceries, notions, etc., is a native of Ireland and emigrated to this country in 1853. In August 1862, he enlisted at Chicago in the Ninetieth Ill. Infantry, and did good service until the close of the war in 1865. In 1867 he came to Harrisville and was engaged at carpenter work. He built most of the buildings that were erected here during the next few years. In 1871 he went into the undertaking business on a small scale, and has continued in that business to the present time. At first he manufactured the coffins himself, but, for several years has carried a good stock of undertaker’s goods. In 1879 he opened his store and gave up his trade. He has a wife and one child.
