           JOHN BUCHANAN, farmer, was born in New Brunswick, in 1839. In
        1864 he came to what is now Alcona County, and engaged in lumber-
        ing. In 1872 he purchased eight acres of land in Section 15,
        Harrisville Township, and cleared it. He was married April, 1867
        at Harrisville, to MISS FLORA HAMILTON. They have three children.
        MR. BUCHANAN is one of the pioneers of the county, and one of its
        successful and enterprising farmers.
