The freight house, with the exception of the southern end, and 10 loaded cars were destroyed. There was a large amount of merchandise in the freight houses and the total loss is estimated at about $100, 000. The fire started from a freight car, the contents of which included goods of an explosive nature, which were being unloaded by the night crew. The Fire De- partment found it a stubborn fire to fight. ================================================================================
