William Henry Harrison to his wife ========================================================================== Officers Hospital Annapolis Feb. 25 - 1865 My Dear Annie, I arrived here on the 22nd - am well but owing to the large number of paroled officers at Annapolis have been obliged to take quarters at the hospital. We have everything that can be desired. Indeed our life here is more agreeable than at the third rate hotel in the town. Did you receive the letter from Danville Va! I am daily expecting a leave of absence for thirty days and shall visit you as soon as possible. [page 2] Have you forgotten me or become estranged during my weary and dreary captivity. Will you send reply to 934 Franklin St. Pa. I am ex- pecting to be there by the first of next week, At Aikens Ldg, on the James. I sent a dispatch home and by a very fortunate misconstruation my father & mother were summoned by it to Annapolis. Hus**** soon With much love Ever yours Henry Harrison 2d US Cav ==========================================================================
