                     Near Nashvill Tenn
                     April the 29th 1865
                     
                           Dear Brother
                 it is with the greatest
                 of pleasure that I take
                 my pen in hand to
                 answer you your letter
                 of the 19th inst I
                 was glad to hear that
                 you wer all in good
                 health well my health
                 is good and am having
                 a good time I hant
                 doing any duty here and
                 we have plenty to Eat

                 that we will get out in
                 corse of a few months
                 we have nice wether here
                 the corn is up and looks
                 nice their is some of the
                 corn big enough to work
                 well I cant think
                 of any thing els to write
                 we dont get any news
