I have not Reced any letters from home for some time but do not Consider that any thing Strange I shall not write a great deal for I have not time as they are going right away I wish you would have Joe Moore See Major Lamson and tell him that John Sawyer is missing he is a cousin of Lamsons it is Supposed that he is Captured he went out with a man by the name of Barney Golden of Co. G. they both belonged to the ambl Corps they went out the night of the 25th to bring in wounded and have not been Seen Since [page 2] it was verry dark and it rained hard we was in a dense woods So it is Supposed that they got into the Rebel lines and were Captured as I have Tried to find them elsewhere and can not. there is quite a number missing since that night I wish Joe would See the Major and tell him So his folks Can know it. I shall not write any thing concerning the Campaign & only that things are going Right George is well and tuff as ever I see Frank this morning he is getting along first rate got well My love to all and excpt a large Share for your self From your William the man Barney Golden belonged to Co G. 33d Regt Sawyer belonged to Co.
