My Dear wife I write to inform you that I am well as usual and am glad to
hear that all the folks at home are the same as to camp life I like it
better than at first the 2 first nights I slept on the floor with nothing
but now we have tents and sleep first rate we get up at five in the morning
and answer to our names from 5 to 6 wash and go into the water 7 Breadfirst
8 1/2 to 10 Drill 1 dinner 4 1/2 to 6 " 9 go. to. Bed

9 1/2 blow out Lights in the morning we have Coffee and Bread dinner we
have fish.  Meat & Beans for a change also Coffee to go with the fare is as
good as I Expected and rather Better I have got milk several times it is 4
cents pr qt I have not received my money from the town yet but I think it
will be paid in a day or two as to the company that I am in it is the 9th
Batteray Capt de Verci he and the other officers appear to be good men but
time will tell there is about 15 in the company from North Bridgewater

with whom I am acquainted so that I have plenty of Company, they have all
used me well  mr. Porter Called to see me yesterday he brought me some
Cheese Cake Cucambers paper Envelops & had a letter from Charles on
religion as usual the Batterry talk of going to Readville dedham in a few
days if so you will know it by the papers our Company is most full the
Captain has promised us all a furlough if the girls are going away I shall
not come before they get back as I may not Come But once as soon as I get
some money will send you some
