- Steuben County -
Steuben County was created in 1835 from LaGrange County. It is located in the northeast corner of Indiana. It is borderd on
the north by Branch County Michigan, northeast by Hillsdale County, Michigan, east by Williams County, Ohio, south by De Kalb
County, southwest by Noble County and LaGrange County on the west. It was named for American Revoluntionary War officer
Baron Frederick Von Steuben.
The county is divided into twelve townships, the whole of which contain a total area of 322.47 square miles.
The largest city, and county seat, is Angola.
