She had been seriously ill for two weeks. Funeral services are to be held at the home at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning with the Rev. J. E. Henshaw in charge, and interment will be made in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Rankin was 79 years old. She was born July 14, 1855, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Collins) Lane. She received her early education in Orange County and came to Daviess County 47 years ago. Her husband, Daniel R. Rankin, to whom she was married when a young woman, passed away last January 15. Although ill for six years, Mrs. Rankin bore her long illness with cheerfulness and rare fortitude. Devoted to her children, it was her ambition to develop them into upright, honorable and useful citizens, an ambition which she saw accomplished. Mrs. Rankin was a member of the Central Christian church. The surviving children are Ed and Miss Hattie Rankin of Washington, Walter Rankin of Pittsburg, Calif. and Mrs. A. O. Gilkison of Indianapolis. Mrs. Rankin was the last of her family. The body was to be moved from the Keller mortuary to the Rankin home at 101 Southside Avenue late this afternoon. ===========================================================================
