Born in Orange County, she was the daughter of William M. Toliver and Lavina Stackhouse. She married Chester G. Lane, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1963. She was the former owner of Lane's Motel in West Baden Springs for 16 years. She graduated from Indiana University and taught school for one year. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Baden Springs. Surviving are three sons: James E. Lane of Terre Haute, C. Robert Lane of Palmyra, and Harry Lee Lane of Alexandria, Va.; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; and her parents. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in West Baden Springs. The Rev. Bob Harting will officiate. Burial will be in Ames Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or the Melton Public Library. ===========================================================================
