Lane, aged 38, living three miles west of Paoli, was killed in an automobile accident on state road 150 last Thursday night. The accident occurred on Monastry hill, six miles north of New Albany. An hour before the accident the car containing Mr. Lane and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Lane of West Baden, had figured in another mishap. Returning to West Baden from New Albany, the Lanes narrowly escaped injury when another vehicle sideswiped their machine near Palmyra. The other machine did not stay and leaving Mrs. Lane at a Palmyra hotel the father and son trailed the car to New Albany where it was lost in traffic. It was on the return trip to Palmyra that the car plunged down a 30-foot embankment, struck a tree and overturned, pinning the father under the car. Harry Lane suffered a fractured skull and was dead when taken from the machine. Perry Lane, who had sounded the car's horn thirty minutes before help came, was taken to St. Edward's hospital in New Albany. ===========================================================================
