Born on Jan. 19, 1919, in Dubois County, she was the daughter of William L. and Ethel M. Conrad Nicholson. She married Blanchard B. Cope on Sept. 3 1937, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2003. She was a homemaker and served as the Order of the Eastern Star Past Matron. She was active with the Orange County Christian Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Nicholson Valley Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Bonny Lagenour of French Lick and Karen Stites of Vincennes; one grandson; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Melvin Nicholson of Louisville, KY; one sister, June Spicer of Tell City; one sister-in-law; two nephews and and seven nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Ethel M. Conrad Nicholson; her husband, Blachard B. Cope; one granddaughter; one brother, Benjamin Nicholson; and one niece. Officiating the service will be the Reverand Albert Madden. A private family burial will follow at a later date. An Eastern Star service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at T.L. Pinnick Mortuary in French Lick. The family requests and contributions be made to Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 249. ===========================================================================
