February 12, 1876


               Last night 13 and 15 Madison avenue was
             raided by Sergeant WIESSE and posse, and
             HATTIE RICE, STELLA COOPER, ELLA HARTER,
             MOLLIE BISHOP, ADA SEEDS, CARRIE WARNER,
             JENNIE JOHNSON, IRA HARTER, GEORGE HARTER
             and ABIJAH RICE were taken in under the
             ill-fame ordinance. To-day some hair-
             splitting technicalilty displayed itself
             in the City Court and the whole batch
             were discharged.
