The vessel was brought to an anchor as soon as the wind, which was blowing a gale, would permit; but all search for the unfortunate man proved unavail- ing. Mr. GLEASON was about 22 years of age, and resided in Chicago, where he was President of the Sailors' Union. He is very highly spoken of by his comrades, and his sudden death is a sad bereavement to his many friends. ==========================================================================
