FOUNTAIN'S FUNERAL The funeral services of the late CAPT. THOMAS FOUNTAIN and his son, DANIEL FOUNTAIN, who were drowned when the schooner Wells Burt went down during the storm of May 20, were held in the Church of the Ascension between 12 and 1 o'clock yesterday. There was a large attendance of the friends and acquaintances of the deceased. The Rev. ARTHUR RITCHIE, who officiated, said a solemn requiem mass, which made the affair more of a novelty than it would have otherwise been. After the services at the church were concluded the bodies were taken to Rosehill Cemetery in a hearse, which was followed by a long line of carriages containing mourning relatives and friends. The coffins were almost completely covered with beautiful floral designs bearing appropriate inscriptions. At the cemetery the Masonic burial service was read for CAPT. FOUNTAIN. He was a member of Cleveland Lodge, from which and from other lodges large dele- gations were in attendance. Messrs. J. S. DUNHAM, A. ATKINS, D. McLEOD, J. L. HIGGIE, H. CHANNON, P. MILLER, S. DONALDSON, and T. HOWLAND acted as pall-bearers of the remains of the Captain, and eight young men, former companions of DANIEL FOUNTAIN, acted as pall- bearers of his remains. ==========================================================================
