BALDWIN RITES TODAY; VET OF LAKE VESSELS. The funeral for CAPT. THOMAS G. BALDWIN, who was a captain on lake steamers for 50 years, will be held at 3 p.m. today in the chapel at 4227 Cottage Grove avenue. Burial will be in Oakwoods cemetery. The veteran lake captain died Sunday of heart disease in his home at 654 Bowen avenue. CAPT. BALD- WIN was 71 years old. Born in Chicago, CAPT. BALDWIN was the son of CAPT. GEORGE BALDWIN, who sailed the lakes in the days of 1874. CAPT. THOMAS BALDWIN attended the public schools in Chicago. Before his retirement two years ago, the commanded the Goodrich liner Georgia, for twenty-five years.
