Evanston's ghost has been captured. He was ambushed after midnight Friday morning near his favorite stretch of sand, and, with the mask off, he answers to the name of W. P. KAY, the wag of the lifesaving crew. R. C. LIBBERTON and W. L. WILSON were coconspirators. Seven men of the station agreed to run down his ghostship and one of the party was armed. He dodged them once, but reappeared. When they approached near enough to see the bravest of his assailants drew back with cries of terror. The ghost had a long, thin, scraggy beard, which covered his face. In one hand he carried a four-tined pitchfork and in the other held a bright blade. It was at this point that one of the ghost hunters drew his revolver and began to fire point blank at the apparition. It turned and fled precipitately up the shore. Again pursued he at last turned about and exclaimed: "Gentlemen, you have seen the last act!" and, pulling off his mask, revealed the face of W. P. KAY. VAN DOOZER and SPRINGER wanted to duck KAY in the lake, but wiser council prevailed. ========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access more of our growing collection of FREE online information by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ ==========================================================================
