AUSTIN, W. A., farmer, Sec. 5, T. 84, R. 6; born Aug 20, 1836, in Knox Co.,
Ohio; in 1852, came to Muscatine Co., Iowa; in 1853 removed to Marion Tp.;
owns 170 acres of land, valued at $30 per acre.  Married JULALIA LUCORE in
1863; she was born in 1843, in Marion Tp.; had eight children, seven
living-- MATTIE, MAGGIE, KATIE, WILLIAM, SADIE, INA MAY, EDWARD.  Enlisted
in Co. K, 9th I.V.I.; served about fourteen months; was wounded at Pea
Ridge, Ark., and was discharged.
