MARY REID ANDREWS The Augusta Chronicle Wednesday, January 16, 1929 FUNERAL YESTERDAY MRS. M. ANDREWS Crawfordville, Ga., Jan. 14 – A large concourse of friends attended the funeral obsequies this afternoon of Mrs. Mary Reid Andrews, whose death occurred Sunday night and whose remains were laid to rest in the Crawfordville cemetery at 3 o’clock. Although Mrs. Andrews had been ill for several years, never having recovered from the effects of a stroke, pneumonia following an attack of influenza was the direct cause of her death. She is survived by her husband, Judge Marshall Z. Andrews, one sister, Mrs. Lot L. Oslin, and a number of nieces and nephews. The only child of Judge and Mrs. Andrews, Roland Andrews, passed away three years ago. Mrs. Andrews was a Miss Mary Reid, a member of a pioneer family of Taliaferro county, and one who has for many generations been prominently associated with the social, religious and civic life of the county. She was a cultured woman and before her health failed, was always a factor in the social life of the town, a favorite particularly with the young people, and her home always one of hospitality. Many beautiful floral tributes testified to the regard in which she held. Serving as pall bearers were Ralph Golucke, Russell T. Reid, R. L. Hillis, S. W. Wynn, R. L. Taylor and J. P. Ellington, the officiating minister being Rev. George Steed, pastor of the Baptist church, of which the deceased was a member; assisted by Rev. A. G. McInnes, of the Presbyterian church. ====================================================================== **TRANSCRIBER NOTE:** Mary Cornelia Reid was born April 1861, Taliaferro Co., GA, died January 13, 1929, daughter of Benjamin R.
