ANDREWS The Augusta Chronicle Sunday, September 16, 1917 DR. L. M. ANDREWS HAS PASSED AWAY Crawfordville, Ga., Sept. 14 – Dr. L. M. Andrews of Greene County, ten miles from this place, died this morning at 4 o’clock, after a long illness. He was 82 years old, and a Confederate soldier. He went to the war as lieutenant, but was soon made captain of Company D, Forty- Ninth Georgia, and made an excellent record as a soldier. He was actively engaged in the practice of medicine till his health prevented further active service in his profession. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Andrews, who was a Miss Moore at the time of her marriage in 1866, three sons, Jesse Andrews, of Atlanta; Warren, Otis Andrews, and one daughter, Mrs. Pearl King, of Greene County. His remains will be interred in the Bethany Cemetery, Saturday. Dr. Andrews was a brother of Judge M. Z. Andrews, ordinary of Taliaferro County. ===========================================================================
