ANDREWS The Augusta Chronicle Sunday June 28, 1914 FUNERAL SUNDAY Mr. J. V. Andrews Died in Crawfordville Saturday Special to The Chronicle Crawfordville, Ga., June 27 – Mr. J. V. Andrews, of this place, died at his home here today and will be buried Sunday in Crawfordville Cemetery. Mr. Andrews up to some eight years ago resided in Greene County but has for many years been identified with the business interests of Crawfordville, being a member of the firm of Holden & Co., and Holden, Andrews & Saggus here. He was a Confederate Veteran, 69 years of age. He never aspired to office, but was a successful farmer and business man. He is survived by his widow, one son, R. L. Andrews, of Greene County, and two daughters, Mrs. J. H. Callahan and Miss Gordon Andrews, of this place. He is a brother of Judge M. Z. Andrews, ordinary of Taliaferro County, and of Dr. L. M. Andrews, of Greene County. He was highly respected and esteemed by all who knew him. ====================================================================== **TRANSCRIBER NOTE:** John Vincent Andrews was born September 10, 1845, Greene Co., GA, died June 27, 1914, Taliaferro Co., son of Warren Andrews and America Darden. He was married in 1866 to Laura Gunn, daughter of Richard Gunn and Martha Ann Rhodes. Laura was born June 20, 1852, Taliaferro Co., died April 7, 1919. Both are buried in Crawfordville Baptist Cemetery.
