Contributions
Contributors, We Need You:
US Data Repository is contributor driven. It is not associated with any
special or commercial project. US Data Repository is generic, non-political,
and part of USGenNet Inc., an educational nonprofit public benefit corporation.
We believe that we are the best online safe-haven that you will find for your data.
Copyright: Pre-1923 work
is in the public domain. Our primary focus is on
public domain records. We generally avoid anything published 1923 or later
unless the current real copyright owners of post-1922 material give us permission to
publish their work.
Contributors: Contributors
should be the transcribers or be the legal owners
of the transcription. Copying from online sources should be avoided.
Transcriptions should be made from original documents, usually by using
microfilms. Proofreading is required.
Format: We prefer
text formated
contributions. In the long run, text format may still be with us but HTML is
destined to change. We are able to deal with word files and PDF files. We
have serious restrictions on graphic files. We reserve the right to
re-format contributions.
Transcriber Info: Name
and addy of the transcriber should appear in the file
text at the top of the first page.
Source Cites: The source of the
information should be complete, not just a
microfim number (if possible). Here is an exmple of a source citation:
American State Papers, House
of Representatives, 25th Congress, 2nd Session.
Military Affairs: Volume 7, Pages 751-752.
